CostGrade is not a referral service, takes no fees from hospitals and does not act on individual accounts. For a
specific bill, start with the hospital's own financial assistance office and its billing department — and ask for
an itemised bill first. Both are free, and both are more use than we can be.
Correcting a facility's federal record
We reproduce the CMS file exactly and cannot amend it on request. If a facility believes its record is wrong, the correction must go through CMS and the state survey agency. If we have made a processing error on our side, tell us and we will fix it and say what changed.
